How to Book a Model
You need the best talent to represent your brand to your customers. What do you do?
If you are looking to book a model, you have come to the right place.
To understand how it all works, we have put together a guide to booking our Upfront talents to ensure that you get the best experience possible on the job.
Why is it important to book a model?
When showcasing your business or brand, it is always important to put your best foot forward. The model acts as the face of your business and is a professional presentation to the outside world. Not only that but your chosen model effectively ‘talks’ and communicates directly with your target market.
That’s the kind of interaction you don’t want to mess up.
When looking to book talent for your next campaign, editorial or showcase - it can seem like a daunting task. With Upfront, we are there every step of the way to ensure you cast the right talent to represent your brand.
Although using your employees or friends may seem like a good idea, this can cause a whole host of legal issues. So when it comes to usage rights and requirements, it’s best to trust the professionals.
Why should you book with Upfront Model Management?
Upfront Model Management was established in 2007 by Orla Diffily to provide professional commercial and fashion models of all ages. Our ethos as an agency is very simple, we are committed to professionalism, diversity and of course, creativity.
“At Upfront we are so much more than a model agency,” says Orla Diffily, agency owner of Upfront Model Management.
“With nearly three decades working at the forefront of an everchanging and evolving industry, we seek to anticipate trends while also representing talents that reflect the broad spectrum of diversity within our society.”
With so many years of experience in the industry, our models are not just ‘one dimensional’. All of our talents are highly trained, with international and national experience in various creative industries.
“Many of our talents now also have acting experience allowing them to better communicate client products and services on multiple media platforms in an often congested media world,” says Orla.
“We work with clients and agencies to assist them in casting the right talents for their campaigns - from once-off e-commerce to multi-platform national and international campaigns.”
In addition to representing commercial and fashion talents, we also have a network of professionals and artists that we can commission to work on behalf of clients providing services including full show production, make-up and hair artists and mc’s and entertainers.
We often refer to ourselves as the ‘Upfront Family’, with an innate loyalty to everyone on our books and of course, to our clients. As an agency, our team has a natural understanding of the marketing and communications industry and we work with top creatives to deliver the best results on every job.
What you need to know when booking a model
If you decide to book a model with us, there are a few things to keep in mind when providing the brief and getting the job underway.
Pre-agreements
We are fully committed to ensuring that everyone on set is comfortable at all times. To guarantee that this is always the case, the specifics of the job should be discussed first.
Before you can book a model, you must provide a full brief on what the job will entail. This is to ensure that our models are fully prepared and that all the relevant extras have been pre-agreed.
If you require models for lingerie, swimwear or personal care shoots - this must be discussed with the agency before the models attend the job.
Travel
We represent models from all over the country.
All of our talents are available to travel nationwide for bookings, and this will have to be factored into the overall rate depending on your location.
Camera-ready
Although all of our talents are naturally photogenic, we always want to look our best! (Even if this means a little extra time in front of the mirror in the morning!)
If you wish to have the models come ‘camera ready’, this should be discussed beforehand. Or if you prefer to have a hair and makeup team on-site, please let us know so we can allocate time for this!
How much is it to book a model?
Every job is different and therefore, our rates vary on time, travel, usage rights and the talent you’re booking.
At Upfront our average day rates start from €400 per day plus VAT. If you are looking for a more specific quote, tailored to your job requirements, you can contact us here.
Can I book a model for half a day?
Yes! At Upfront, we only book models for full or half days. Therefore, you cannot ‘just book a model for an hour’.
Our models are highly trained and will give you the best experience possible within the agreed time frame.
